This is a short vid of me playing the solo to Clapton's "Badge"--a great classic rock solo. A lot of bends and pre-bends (and Clapton's genius) make this a very expressive solo.

  • Just a teensy bit flat on the triplet at :25, otherwise perfect! Thanks for posting!

  • My pleasure. I hope to post more vids soon. Thanks all.

  • Hi! Glad you like the Badge solo. As for the Blue Sky solo, after a LOT of work I've got the first part down, (I think that was the Dicky Betts part) I'm now on the second part (where Duane Allman comes in). Allman was playing an SG, and the tone was 'harder' than Betts' goldtop Les Paul, so I need to try to get resonably close to both tones using only one guitar. I've been playing on and off for about 20 years. I hope to post Blue Sky before too long. Have a great day!

  • good job, a little sloppy, and clapton hits the high notes a little smoother, but still a good job...

  • Thanks. I'm going to try it again with an SG using some '57 PAF pickups + a lot more practice!

  • That was great. I thought having it playing in the background was a little distracting though. Love to hear more of your stuff.

  • Thanks. That vid (and the other 2) were made as practice tools a few years ago. (Its a great way to examine your technique). I put them on the 'Tube just for fun! I hope to make more as time permits.

  • Not trying to be a jerk, but you have some of it tabbed wrong. The sound is right, but there are a couple parts where it should be bends instead of sliding and bends in place of other notes.

    Good stuff though.

  • tasty!!

  • You can't even see the strings ^.^

But good job on the solo.

  • amazing!

Wish I could play like you!

    My face just melted!

  • Well it's a very, very good fake, considering he put his fingers in exactly the right places at exactly the right times.

  • it's mostly in the tone, no way the tone on that record can be reproduced

  • nice guitar!

  • Excellent - could you post this again only slower??? Thanks!

  • I Believe thats a Fender American Vintage Stratocaster, Natural body with maple neck!;)
