@AndyHanturd yes :)
-
if people keep pushing the limit then engineering route like mechanical electrical and computer are in high demand
-
Would designing guns fall under this category?
-
They working you to death to get back on the high salary engineers get.
but is it not stupid that learning all that math and science, and be subordinate to a person who has bachelor in business who has no clue how stuff works?
-
most companies cut way back on engineers. They will work you to death - they'll give you the job of 5 engineers, PLUS you'll also do a lot of other peoples' jobs too. I was doing work that accounting, purchasing, and management should be doing. THey dump everything on engineers, while cutting the headcount to a bare minumum. And yes, one by one engineers are getting outsourced and there is huge DOWNWARD pressure on salaries.
I would recommend electrical or computer engineering over mechanical.

in the real world, M.E.s spend 90% of their time fucking around with drawings. At least that's all ive ever done in 5 different M.E. jobs for 5 different companies. If you don't get a hard-on over drawings, you'll hate being an M.E.
I quit and will never go back.

three years into college as a M.E. major. and its hard as F**K!!!!!!!! but i love it
-
What do you say about stuff like, most engineers get layed off after ten years, and that most engineering jobs are outsourced to India and China for cheap labor.
And that Engineering major has high drop out rate, and it's kind boring, you will be looking at drawing and solving problems all day in a lonely desk in the corner?
-
then you want to be an industrial designer
