龍是我國古代傳說中最尊貴的祥獸，是黃帝君臨天下的象徵，是萬物之王，常患小人者，若以龍作為吉祥物，可令妖魔退避，招來吉祥擋災。龍紋常用於祭祀器物的裝飾，也常被描繪­成神仙的坐騎；龍能吐水，是水神，水為財，故龍也成為招財的吉祥獸。在民間則將龍比喻為男子，有神武、力量、卓越、掌財的象徵。
