@ona357 A long time ago, a MASSIVE comet bypassed the Sun and the Sun's gravity tore it into pieces. Every so often, small pieces like this one get picked up by SOHO and Hinode, but even more rarely, LARGE fragments round the Sun in the form of 'Sungrazers'. In 1882, for example, a party of astronomers in Egypt watching a total solar eclipse saw one such Sungrazer by pure luck during totality
