pursestrings ? Congress can only AUTHORIZE money they can not spend it it is the Executive Branch that spends it. The Executive Branch the POTUS controls appointments to Fannie and Freddie And NO the unemployment rate did not average 5% and when they left it was at 7.5% and rising. And their Dow was in complete freefall. Obama has stopped the Dow and now finally the unemployment rate has stopped climbing

BUT if you paid attention to the video you claim to be commenting on, you'll find nary a Republican voice defending Fannie and Freddie.
They did nothing? I guess you're right because the unemployment was averaging 5% when they were in charge. Wanna guess when things began to suck? That would be 2007, who was in charge of the pursestings from that point on?
Thank God the Democrats are doing SOMETHING, otherwise things would be really bad..like 10% unemployment and a large deficit to boot.

They did not a fillibuster proof majority. BUT they were the party in control of both houses of Congress AND the White House. The GOP had 8 long years of power and did NOTHING to clear up that mess That is why they have done so poorly in the last 2 elections.

You'll notice Waters clearly state this was about "affordable housing" .
No wonder Obama initially pegged him to advise him on housing.
BTW, Rahn Emmaul worked for Fannie Mae for 6 months and cleared 300k,
So did Barney Frank's boyfriend.

Look and see how much Fannie and Freddie paid representatives Artur Davis, Maxine Waters, Gregory Meeks, and Barney Frank to say "There's nothing wrong, just look the other way"? People we are already losing our freedoms. The Obama camp feel so strong they will win that big business is destroying anyone who is anti-Obama and pro- American. Half a dozen web pages that studied Obama's life from childhood and explores his relationship with KNOWN terrorists and who is helping him with his college and campaign et al.
