A lot of people have associated this track as a Hawkwind song, but in fact, it's not really. All instruments played and recorded by Dave Brock in 1988...

Again, this is dedicated to TheHumanToenail...

  • dude, why didnt you put brock in the title?

  • @sonicgsxr750

Because that's not how Dave Brock credited the track.

But I have already made aware of the sole input on this song at the top of the description for those who don't know, did you not see that?

  • I remember this footage and edit from Apocalypse countdown evening 1999 channel 4 etc, originally Fat Boy Slims: right here right now, was the music.

  • @EmptyasChurch When you say this edit, it wasn't exactly as you're seeing here. You're remembering parts from that whole evening. This here was edited using footage from that whole night. But well done on recalling where the footage was taken from, you are the first to mention it...

  • Best fan video I've ever seen!

The tempo of the clips is really well done - I love how you've got all the Hawks' themes: socio-politics, SF, world affairs and... Stonehenge!

  • Thanks for the kind, and well observed comment.

I got really excited when I was originally putting this together. I could see myself that it was developing into something very moving.

When I first shown this to a friend, I remember him telling me that I should send it to Greenpeace.

  • Cool video thanks!

Yeah interesting note that pretty much all the material from "Church of Hawkwind" was Dave's solo stuff which makes it for all intents and purposes a Brock solo album. But for all intents and purposes Brock is Hawkwind. The core of it, anyway

  • Wehrt euch.Lasst euch nicht zu Robotern machen.

  • Und dann merkst du, dann begreifst du,wozu Krieg ,Gewalt und Terror gut ist : Zu viele Menschen und Keine Lösung. Was soll man machen als Politiker und Christ?

  • @soopahsoopah Yeah, but internal politics aside, he's done bloody well at keeping shit rolling along.

Seems like they've been Touring non-stop for 40 years! (Seems like they've been playing the the same song for 40 years too sometimes.)

  • @KarmicAnarchist True... I heard from Moorcock himself that Dave was a bit dodgy sometimes.

  • @soopahsoopah Yeah, for all intents and purposes, Dave is the Captain of Spaceship Hawkwind. But Nik is still First Mate. His contribution to Hawkwind's whole aesthetic (not to mention it's back catalogue) is just as relevant today as it was when he was still playing with the band. Shame Dave's such a grudgy little fucker really, or they might still be making albums like Astounding Sounds, or Sonic Attack. Or (and this is my favourite) Stonehenge 1984.

  • @F5Speedy Having partaken in this truly mind expanding drug in the past, I would heartily recommend it be on everyone's "5 things to do before you die" list. And I don't say this lightly. And what's the worst that can happen?
