BRAVISSIMI ciao dal Gerry

@amfalk Also, I live in the area and they know me which is why they don't mind me coming up to observe the ringing. I don't know what their stance is with strangers. I imagine they would be very welcoming but it's still best to check anyway whether you can go along.

@amfalk Well I wouldn't go to the sunday ringing expecting to get a ring. You'll only be disappointed if you don't. They have very high standards. I wouldn't really recommend it especially if you live far away.

thanks. I doubt very much that I'll ever be able to ring Stedman cinques. I'd be pretty nervous even trying rounds on 16. Now that I know they let you in to watch the Sunday ringing, I'll make an effort to make it.

Method??

@amfalk The bullring practice is generally a closed practice. They like you to be able to ring stedman cinques before you are invited there. If you go to observe on a sunday, sometimes they let you ring rounds and calls on 16 but it isn't a guarantee. I've been there on a sunday just to listen to the amazing sound and i'm quite happy doing just that.

Notice the Taylor Trophy, standing behind the ringer of the 14th
Very good, but personally I think 12 bells is enough! 16 doesn't make musical sense really.

I agree, but we were there and it would have been rude not to have a go!! Plus this was a decent piece of 16-bell ringing so thought I'd share it.

Quite right! It is good ringing (do I spot Neil Bennett there??) and the bells sound good but they go too high up! It's well worthwhile and I would certainly give it a shot but my 12 bell ringing is somewhat basic!
