  • so no manual transmission , so its an expensive fast golf cart?

  • its all about demand, most people dont want to spend $30k on a midsize semi luxury hybrid sedan and have to deal with shifting gears.

  • This is all pretty cool but I have one big complaint. That needle going to 120 mph and back animation at the beginning is the MOST GIMMICKY GIMMICK OF ALL THE GIMMICKS! wtf Ford. The fusion is cool. That animation is not. I mean, that isn't even a tach! and it just looks like something that belongs in a poorly designed videogame.

  • Ford W/UP you CAN do better Come on all E V Power u can do it SO DOIT?? OR WE WILL ! TY.

  • Actually the battery in the new Fusion Hybrid is 100% recyclable. They plan on refurbishing them when they go bad.

  • I agree, I don't like all the dings and bings. And is it just me, or does anyone else find the speedometer going up to 120mph when you turn the car on startling? At least you've gotta hand it to ford for being the only company of the big 3 not to declare bankruptcy. Too bad GM didn't do it sooner, and save american tax payers $20 billion

  • Its difficult to make a manual hybrid because half the time the battery powers the car. Since the computer has to make these complex decisions, its best to allow the car as much control over the driving as possible. Yes manuals are more fun. But in all reality, most people drive autos, and manuals are becoming obsolete... With the exception of high end performance cars of course.

  • at least its not in the center. but its more of a ford CONFUSION with all the bongs it comes with it noting WTF is that bonging sound. but either way its a good competition with honda and toyota. till they can refine the fusion even more than the honda or toyota ill get one. but then again its more of a hassle that you bought a car that does more harm in the long run. eithe way next year we can recycle the linthium batteries. :)

  • yeah but ford should produce a limited number of manual hybrids with cool feautures only manuals come with so could make automatic drivers jelous lol , my next car will be a euro ford focus diesel when it omes out in 2011 can't wait
