My version of the old feminist labour poem "Bread and Roses".
American Feminist Labour Song
Date written: 1911 - James Oppenheim (poem); 1976 - Mimi Farina (music)
First recorded: 1976 - Judy Collins
The poem became heavily associated with the suffragettes, first and second wave feminism and, in particular, the 1912 Lawrence Textile Strike, which was also known as the "Bread and Roses Strike".
Thank you for your beautiful rendition of this song. It is one of my favorite songs of all times.
