Over the past two months we have been introducing the cart to our minis and BOY are we having a great time. Each week we select a new horse to introduce the cart to.

So far we have averaged around 4.5 sessions before we are having success. We are so comfortable with our outcome, that we have a nine-year-old and a seven-year-old working them out to maintain their skills.

  • Wrong! It's all wrong!

The harness is too large for two of the three ponies. The shafts of the cart are WAY too low. The bridle is incorrectly fitted. The traces - what did you DO?? Do you know what the single tree is for? PLEASE consider the well-being of the horses and get help from someone who knows how to properly drive horses.

  • I totally agree with TeesaRosa and blackbetsy59. Get some lessons and someone to show you how the harness should fit before you continue on driving.

  • those horses are so confused!

  • Ditto on everything said and hitting a driving horse with the reins? You need a whip but must first learn the correct way to use it, "Teaching Your Horse to Move off the Whip" google it!

  • Tessa is so right. You are obviously not at all experienced with harness. You are very lucky you have not had a runnaway or ruined one of your ponies. Your ponies obviously have great temperments which is a credit to your breeding plan but PLEASE get some help with the harness breaking. I am sure there must be a harness club near you that would be happy to help you. Many of them hold regular instruction days and this would be a great help to you. Good luck.

  • i have to agree,sorry
