There is no law being passed that requires doctors to perform abortions... that would be so highly immoral and illegal. Radical anti-choicers like this "Be Heard Project" are no different from the birthers or truthers... make up lies, and use them to justify big government legislation. You do it with Crisis Pregnancy Centers, and now you're doing it here. When will it end, people?

If you have ideological, political, or religious hang-ups that prevent you from performing duties entailed in your job description you probably should find another job. Imagine if police officers arbitrarily refused to enforce laws they disagreed with or if bus drivers turned off their engines with passengers in tow mid-route because his religion forbids him from operating a vehicle after sun down.

@ksb100pr No, we don't get to list what types of patients and issues we can work with. The one issue we can choose to opt out of is participating in an abortion. In the very rare occurrence when a woman might need an emergency abortion there are plenty of nursing staff available who aren't conscientious objectors. The ab is done on an ob floor or in an or, where the pro-life nurse is simply replaced by another member of the nursing staff. Same is true for doctors.

@ksb100pr This video was made when the issue was raised that the Freedom of Choice Act might endanger the Conscience Clause that already is in place to protect conscientious objector health care staff from being required to participate in abortion. Now, two years later, the clause still protects us. No one can be fired for refusing participation. As far as pro-life docs, there are plenty. Watch some videos of speakers from the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
