This is the tornado that struck Waldron on June 3rd 2008 around 8PM. We cut through the storm front before the tornado formed and stopped in a driveway about a mile south of the tornado's path to film. It touched down about half a mile east of my Mom's house near CR500E and continued eastward through the north edge of the town of Waldron hitting several homes and barns.

It's really spooky to be able to see and hear a tornado from the distance we were able too. Less than a mile away from what I figured. I do have to say, no, it did not sound like a train. I want to say thanks to the folks who let us stop and take shelter in their house. Gavyn had fun playing with their two girls and excited lab. I also want to add that, again, I'm sorry for accidentally kicking your cat as we all hurried inside. I don't think she was hurt by any means.

  • Why is it changing color

  • The video was filmed on with a low quality digital camera.

  • Im a Texan who used to spend all my summers with my grandparents on a farm on E. 600 South, in Waldron. Damn I miss that place.

  • I might know who them if they're still around here :)

  • it was really close 2 my house!

  • It formed really close to my mom's house. If I hadn't called them telling them to take cover they would have never known it was there.

  • Ive always thought they sounded like a sqaudron of B 52 bombers.

  • i remeber this it was major man my parents and i went to check out the damage and woo man it was terrible luckliy it didnt hit shelbyville.

  • We were having revival at church on state road 9 and 500 S. We were outside and watched it go by to the esat of us. The preacher yelled at the tornado to end; and it lifted off the ground and dissipated.

    With GOD, nothing is impossible.

  • My grandparents live in the yellow brick house directly next to where the covered bridge was. We truly were thanking God that they were out of town that day. Its terribly sad that the bridge was destroyed; our family had so many memories with that bridge.

  • i live in Moscow Indiana... and yeah its the same one
