Okay, skipping ahead to the final battle. I'm not the best player in the world, but this is freakin' hard! Started with 2 lives/2 credits, no cheats.

  • Part of the reason this game sounds so bad is because it was an un-licensed cart. Only Double Dragon 3 was officially sanctioned by Sega. DD1 and and DD2 Genesis are tenchnically "bootlegs"

  • @ZombieRyushu I wouldn't consider them bootlegs, as they use the double dragon liscense, they just weren't approved by sega. they weren't illegal. as for the quality, it's a known fact that there were unliscensed games that went over the 8 megabit limitation of the original genesis cart (such as Star Control, also by ballistic, if memory serves). weaker games had superior sound. they just took cost saving shortcuts on this title

  • There are quite a few Genesis games that were widely acknowlegded at the time as having good/memorable soundtracks... take for example the Sonic the Hedgehog series, the Streets of Rage series, some of the Disney games (I thought Fantasia was pretty good), some of the sega arcade ports.

  • I am sorry XSC3, If you think Doubel Dragon genesis music is amazing then you are obviously wrong (or have possibly the WORST taste in chips tunes then anyone I've met in my life). Have you ever Played Games such as Thunder Force III,Lightening Force,Streets of Rage,Streets of rage,Streets of rage II, Revenge of Shinobi,Devilish,Shinobi III:Return of the ninja master or Elemental Master? These games I've mentioned have GREAT samples in Genesis music,Double Dragon does not.

  • @TheDemoniusX right there were plenty of games with good sound effects, samples, and/or music on the vanilla genesis. The system was capable of much more than what you hear in this DD port, to be sure! It is a pity that they didn't push the envelope more on this port, even though I still say the music is pretty accurate. Again, people bash the genesis unfairly because of the lower audio specs or because they only knew the SNES back in the day.

  • those elite guards are badass. Loved when the blonde ones first appear outside the base. Used to play the arcade just for that part.

  • the master system version at least had the correct music for this fight

  • I like this version better than the arcade.. the arcades framerate was soooo damn slow

  • All of that to rescue a tranny??

  • It takes one hell of a badd ass to beat up 3 guys and one of the has a gun.

  • i spend too many coin in this game !!! xD

  • @DmoneyBrown Lol,I've seen that...

  • That penny whistle sound effect is kinda funny. Sounds like Intellivision/Coleco music.
