This is a work in progress slideshow showing the Kotobukiya Armored Core Noblesse Oblige being constructed.

The Model as displayed in the slide show is fully painted using a combination of Rustoleum and Humbrol spray paints. Detailed was achieved using citadel and Tamiya acrylics.

  • Hey TC, may I ask how did you paint your model kits? Why this? Just because, I want to do something like your works in my models, I have the Rayleonard Alicia that you have posted here, and yours looks so awesome!!

I start to think in buying an airbrush kit (airbrush & compressor) but it's a little bit expensive that equipment, so, you use only brush and paint? or you use airbrush to get that beautiful finish?

  • @hohenheim69 I use a combination of Rustoleum and Humbrol spraypaints, and citadel and Tamiya acrylics for detailing (I got a Iwata Airbrush recently and will move to that in the spring).

I prime and spray paint all of the pieces individually and then detail the pieces as I construct the model. My style is time-consuming, it can easily take several weeks to complete a model.

I'm currently working on a Zoids kit, I've a WIP thread on the Gundam-Eclipse forum if you'd like to see the progress.

  • The Acrylic Tamiya X-12 turn out great! 1 question tho,... can i panel line over the paint or is that a no-no?

  • @jybc12 Good to hear the feedback on the X-12, I planning to move to fully to Airbrush next year and this will be a color I'm certainly going to stock up on.

How do you intend to panel line? Will you be using a gundam marker or wash technique. Personally I panel line with thinned citadel acrylics onto enamel paint, the results are pretty good (I used boltgun metal to line the Noblesse Oblige).

As always its best to test technique on a piece of waste plastic before tacking a painted kit.

  • Words cant even begin to describe how insane this is looking! Im subscribing to see the finished product and much more!

  • @RbtV92 Thanks, I actually have it finished and took some photographs yesterday for the finished display slideshow, hopefully I'll have it uploaded on Saturday.

  • @tc012009 Thanks for your reply, I have two models builded, but without any paint, and it had in my, a little bit of... how to said... bad taste... The first was an Evangelion Unit 01, not Bandai, it comes from "bendi" one pirate mark jaja... the second was an Bandai Gundam RX78α 1/60 HG big scale, I've in progress one Bandai Eva unit 05 mass produccion, and in stand by, three Gundams, strike, strike noir, MG both, one Zero Custom PG, the Rayleonard Alicia and the rest of Eva's Units.

  • @tc012009 X-12 is a nice vibrant gold color, smells better than enamel paints...

I will panel line with a oil based gundam marker over the acrylic paint, then detailing gold bit on the guns and wings with a fine paint brush will prove challenging. Any tips?

  • Words cant even begin to describe how insane this is looking!

  • @tc012009 Great advice thanks again, or else i'd would of screwed up the gun metal oil based paint on my supplice guns.
