@inkey2 He came from a wealthy family and was massively popular. He was (rightly) furious about being in "slave labor" under a 7-year contract and made lots of money for his studio Warner Bros while being badly paid. He fought to get better roles but failed and suffered a terrible battle with cocaine. He survived but Hollywood had moved on to other young great looking guys. Today, there are many new "Troy Donahues" who haven't yet figured out that they won't be famous for long.
