This is my Lister HA2 Diesel generator set. It is a 1.8 liter air cooled diesel that puts out 22 horsepower at a governed 1800RPM.
The engine will a direct drive to a 12kW generator head through the PTO clutch at the back of the engine. The completed unit will be trailer mounted with a 200 amp service panel with assorted breakers for 240/120VAC power.
Gidday!
You shouldn't need to de-compress engine when using an electric starter. If you must for it to crank, you may have problems with your starter, cables or battery. I hope this helps.
Cheers, Joe.
PS: Have a look at "Lister HRW2 starting MOD".

@joehughes69 Thanks Joe! I didn't know that! I always started the engine with the decompression levers open. I couldn't find an instruction manual and had to correct some problems caused by the previous owner.
And I'll have a look at your Lister vid! Thanks! :D.

Well that engine is no longer in that junk pile of a house. It's in a much better place, that is well maintained. My engine is running nicely all cleaned up.

Cheers,
Hope its been painted now!

There should be a port near the oil filter where you can tee off to an oil pressure gauge.
No, it's not been painted yet, the weather outside is terrible right now and I"m in the process of finding a new place to make biodiesel.
