This is my first time actually trying to create something decent in Mario Paint. It's the first movement of Holst's Second Suite in F, although It's actually would be in G now, since it was easier for me to do. I had pretty much no idea what I was doing but I think for my first serious creation it turned out alright. I'm sure there are some mistakes and wrong notes.

  • Great job! Just a few constructive comments

1.) Make sure you capture the melody in it's entirety. at about the 0:14 mark the melody should be fa, mi, fa, sol, la, fa, re.

2.) Make sure the part at the 0:19 mark is LIGHT! Remember this is flutes and clarinets.. Even with a brass band, I try to make it sound very light by using one soprano, repieno, and solo cornet in the melody, and horns in the accomp. otherwise VERY good!

  • @macosx406 Thanks for the feedback. I've noticed the mistake at 0:14, unfortunately not until after I filmed this. As for 0:19, I went back and forth many times trying to decide on how to write that part. I eventually decided that I liked the sound of the bass part, so that's how it ended up heavy. If I ever get around to redoing this I'll be sure to make that lighter.
