3 Freights and UP 844

For the first time in my railfanning career, I got to see Union Pacific 844. My first time seeing UP steam power since 2000 when UP 3985 stopped in Victorville. Had to wait about 1-2 hours with 5 freight trains going by. Didn't chase it, but it was awesome.

Were you between Victorville & Barstow? I got too greedy on a shot in the rocks past the bridge outside of Victorville and fell behind it. We drove pretty fast and still didn't catch up to it until Barstow.

caught both trailer train and UP 844 at victorville amtrak station. trailer train and 844 met near station platform, resulting in the trailer train blocking the arrival of 844 at victorville from most spectators on the platform
