I swear to god if you can drop shot im buying this... and i also think that recon's/snipers should be taken out of objective games completly. All there good for is the motion mines but those don't last very long anyway's... and the people that just sit in an obscure bush a mile away from m-coms or flags need to grab an assault or an engineer class and actually SUPPORT there team a little bit. FUCK SNIPERS

I just got the game today and I suck! It's hard to jump into scince literally everyone is more skilled at the game then you.

if you have 1 skilled sniper on your team who sits back, calls inmortar strikes and is a great spotter for the guys in the front than it is worth having, that is how i play a sniper and i do a great job at it. If we have more than 2 snipers on the team i will change my class to eaither of the other options dependant on what is needed.

@geirbiscohn not if you have a sniper who knows what he is doing. a sniper can play his part as long as he isnt running around trying to quickscope or use his sniper like a AR. though i agree wit you in a way most snipers arent worth having on a team but a good sniper can watch a objective or defend it and be a very good asset to have

I have read from somewhere that in Bad Company 1 & 2 DICE was just testing different options / game mechanics for BattleField 3. Like with he "no prone" thing DICE was just testing that how much does it reduce "bunny hopping" or what the hell its called and that way create better and nicer gameplay. SO what I mean is that DICE takes the best inventions from Bad Company 1 & 2 (destructible environments, etc.) and uses these inventions to make a ULTIMATE BattleField game.

@jake546213 You are very limited in how well you can play the objective with a sniper rifle generally though.

You could be TRYING to play the objective using knife only ... you'd be technically playing for the objective but if wouldn't make much use.

It's nothing against the people's skills who play as snipers but snipers aren't designed for running and gunning so are very hard to do so with.

I used to try a LOT but it is consistently bad way to play objectively.

@aaront2121 It's not even worth arguing. They're used, but not even close to the way video games make it seem. They CERTAINLY don't run around with .50 cals. The bottom line is the way people play the sniper kit in games detracts from the teamwork element, and generally hurts the team.
