I have an 05 FLHRCI, any differences from yours you could think of?

Just wondering, do you need anything ...loctite , antisieze etc on the compensator threads? I was changing my primary fluid yesterday when I noticed the smell everyone says means that the stator is going bad. I have an electric torque wrench that I may try to see if it will break the comp.nut loose. Also have a breaker bar if necessary. The nut itself is right hand thread, right?

@ishmillero - Great catch. Thanks for sharing the tip. When I took mine out it still had tape on it, so I just put it right back in with the existing left over tape. I should have replaced the tape.
Take care,
Scott

the derby cover has to come off?

@JAGERderNACHTWOLF - Eventualy Yes, you'll have to add primary fluid when you are finished; and you will fill and check the level at that location. (However, you are correct, it is not "necessary" at this point) .
Thank you for taking the time to comment.

@nitehookr - Awesome! That's what I like to hear. Folks watching the vids and then heading to the driveway and doing the job themselves! I was told the same BS... oh you are going to need special tools... oh that job is a pretty big job, I would leave that for the mechanic.
I got news for you IT'S NOT THAT TUFF! Just pay attention, follow instructions, use LOCTITE & TORQ Wrench!
Good luck, I hope everything goes well.
Hope to hear back from you,
Scott
