This is an 8'x8' 6MIL plastic covered greenhouse. There are two 3'x8' raised beds inside along with three shelves made of chicken wire.

  • Added an electric heater. Managed to keep inside temp above outside temp by 15°F. We only use the heater if the temps drop below 40°F at night. I can calculate the KwH usage and determine a cost...not sure we want to know. =)

  • Temps inside the greenhouse lagged external temps by about 2 degrees when the sun went down. Near freezing it matches outside temp. Had several cold spells in the 20's (°F). Lettuce left inside did great! Transplanted some more lettuce, broccoli, and spinach to the greenhouse. Will monitor their progress. This is our first greenhouse so we are doing a lot of experimenting.
