I grew up with the dub, and I honestly had no clue Haruka and Michiru were lesbians until I read in a wikipedia entry on Sailor Uranus that she was lesbian. I was completely oblivious!

i hate the american version, there was NO reason to make them cousins! them being lesbian made them cooler then they already were.

@rosered1359 They did that in the US version of Card Captors as well (there were a lot of couples with inappropriate age gaps) lots of bits in the movie didn't make sense. Then when I read the japanese comics it made sense to me, so I prefered the jap versions. :) I still like the US song "Guardian of the Cards" tho cus it's cute. <3

I grew up thinking they were cousins. There were some parts in the series where that didn't really make sense. Now that I know that they are lesbians that explains a whole lot more.

So this is why I have open mindedness with so many things!! I experience t.v. shows like this without my parents know!! HAHA! I wish I could tell them the only reason I can except gays is because of the t.v. they let me watch!!! This just made me love the show 10x more and I already was in love with this show!! :D

Unfortunately in many countries we weren't ready for a beautiful couple of lesbian girls. Or two girls that love each other, anyway. And even today we wouldn't be ready. It's so stupid to hide stuff in anime... I mean, I always thought of sailor moon as a stupid shoujo anime that I never watched, and when I found out how actually mature it is, I was shocked!!!
