I don't think she knows completely what she is talking about. Religious abuse IS about control but the parents aren't doing this for control. They are doing it out of fear! The people who instill these beliefs in them do it for MONEY and POWER. The parents do this because they are completely convinced that they will BURN IN HELL if their kids do not follow their footsteps. These ridiculous beliefs are forced upon children.

So many Christians make Christianity out to be this "FEAR" based religion. It is a shame. If Christianity is the road you choose, it should not be because of fear. I was raised in a religiously abusive home. I was raised in this kind of atmosphere. I would love to help this woman make her point! True Christians are supposed to lead people to Christ, not drive them away.

OmG, so my mum is a victim aswel.

At age of 5and 6, I was sexually abused, mentally abused, physically abused. And the scars stays in my youth. My normal cousins all have phd, doctorate, master or bachelor degree. I am 26 doing my bachelor, to late, I know I am really talented, but it's just of my fucking past, I am behind. Still I take my responsibility and don't blame or seek for it.

The greatest shock in ones life could be to first be very fervent on using religious or superstitious systems to combat immorality and injustice in the world, and then discover that these superstitious systems are the sole burden of humankind, a disastrous virus for striking all these helpless or incompetent humans at it's core. A full scandal, that needs to be washed away by applying successive stages of research and education in science and philosophy .
