The Yellow Payges didn't have a lot of success, but they did have a lot of great songs. Here are four of their best, the A and B sides of two of their 1969 singles on the UNI label:

UNI 55107: "The Two of Us"/"Never Put Away My Love for You"

UNI 55153: "Vanilla on My Mind"/"Would You Mind If I Loved You"

All four songs are transferred direct from extant copies of the 45 RPM records from my collection. Don't look for this music on CD at your local chain store, because you won't find it.

  • I would like to bring it to everyone's attention that The Yellow Payges have several albums up on iTunes.

  • Really? That's interesting. Who has made them available? The band? A record company? I've never really used iTunes. I guess I'm rather old fashioned, as the idea of paying for music that you never actually get--in physical form, I mean--is just not very appealing to me.

  • fuckin' love this song! Makes me want to throw a TV out of a hotel window!

  • I guess you're talking about "The Two of Us," right? Somehow I doubt "Never Put Away My Love for You" would ever inspire violence.

Seriously, I love this band. In my alternate fantasy life I WAS IN the Yellow Payges.

  • where's the song SLOW DOWN?

that's the only song i remember by Yellow Payges..... otherwise, good stuff, didnt know the group had these gems...

  • Never heard of "Slow Down."

  • I got vanilla on my mind.

  • The lead singer is my dad, how the hell did you find this stuff? He barely has anything.

  • I just met their drummer at my school today! He was at a blood drive?

  • Love the song "The Two Of Us" so much!

  • Geez. My friend and I used to go to the Hullabaloo Club on Sunset most weekends to see the Yellow Payges as the house band. This sure brings back memories.

  • John Knox was in this band for a while. Anyone remember The U.S. Males? or Burnside?

  • The YP version of "I'm a Man" is great too - lots of energy.

  • a favorite band for the internet radio channel technicolor web of sound that plays yellow payges and thousands more bands and album cuts from both bands who made it and got forgotten. check it out!

  • @HarvestmanMan Good find! 10 cents, and you can't go wrong. Even better if it is in good to mint condition worth a bit more I'm sure, especially to a collector. I have the album in my collection, but I am certain it would provide an entertaining and interesting listen for anyone that was looking for, or stumbling across, the few Yellow Payges bits that have been put up. If you do, attach it to a response to this video, and more people can enjoy it.
