This is a prototype bike that doesn't steer like the usual r/c bike. The servo arm is connected to the forks with a rigid linkage that contains no springs. (Do need to get a servo saver installed though as I've shredded a few gears running off road.)

The bike senses its lean angle and steers accordingly to stay upright. Steering still needs a little work, and the gains were adjusted wrong in this video so higher speed running caused problems. Only took a few moments to adjust the gains later in the day, but I had lost my camera person by then.

Oh, and no, there is no gyro in the rear wheel on this bike.

  • Not bad at all. But I was waiting for you to pop a wheelie! Lol

  • @jfdomega Thanks, I have a brushless motor in it now so it might be able to pull a wheelie - haven't tried yet though. Working on an on road bike that will have better traction on the pavement. Would be interesting to try and add controlled wheelies to the software...
