Struggling as usual to make ends meet, our favorite space cowboys hope to nab some of the unusually high number of bounties that have been posted recently.

That is, except for Faye Valentine, who decides she would rather go hunting for a famous space pirate's hidden treasure instead. Faye leaves the Bebop and crosses paths with an inexperienced bounty hunter named Kent, who unknowingly possesses what may be the most significant clue to the treasure's location...

Meanwhile, Kent's hotheaded partner (and twin sister) Bianca butts heads with Spike as they pursue the same bounty. But after drawing the attention of a disgruntled ex-cop with an intense dislike of bounty hunters, Spike and Bianca find themselves reluctantly teaming up in order to survive.

COWBOY BEBOP: THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME is a feature-length "lost episode" adapted from the PlayStation 2 videogame "Cowboy Bebop: Serenade of Recollection" which was released in Japan in 2005. A US release was planned but ultimately cancelled. The game features voicework by the show's original cast and three new songs composed by Yoko Kanno ("Diamonds", "Pearls" and "Einstein Groovin'", all performed by Ilaria Graziano).

  • really nice job editing! did you edit some of the music also?

  • Pretty much all the music actually. I recorded all the gameplay and cutscenes without music (adding the music back in during editing) so I'd have the freedom to change the pacing of scenes (or even removing or rearranging some dialogue) as I saw fit. Curiously enough though, the cutscenes rarely have music behind them in the game. Usually only when the characters specifically mention a song playing in the background ("Diamonds" or "Pearls") is music heard during a cutscene.

  • This game seems less like a game and more like an episode with very short playable sequences. Did you edit out some of the actual game portions or is it really this sparse?

  • This was edited to resemble a movie as much as possible, and so I opted to show no more of the actual gameplay than what was necessary to tell the story. There is a lot more to the game than what is shown here (I skipped almost all of the shooting and flying levels because they didn't fit the "movie") and it lasts around 8 hours.

  • why can't we just get these games :( i know so so so so so many fans of the anime who would have scooped this game up in a heartbeat

  • Seems like slot of dialogue

  • Damn, Faye's one tough broad! If only that chick with the giant gun could be 1/10th as useful.

  • i hate how bandai quietly cancelled this game for the U.S.

  • if you meant the lower left, they're the name of the character who's speaking

  • What are those words that keep appearing in the lower right?

  • Those flying levels also blow, incidentally.
