A glass of some chemical had been standing in one of the DTU BIOSYS lab fridges for 20y, "sadly" they had to demolish it in this rather great way using 100g explosives. Obviously the the hole they put it, behind DTU Chemical Engineering, became bigger.

@Orkut3672 Picric Acid aka Trnitrophenol is relatively stable, nearly as much so as TNT. it was the main filler charge in many of the munitions used in World War I. so Yeah terrorists would use it its just expensive to produce compared to a lot of easier and more powerful explosives. Where did you get 5% the yeild of a Nuclear weapon? energy wise its like .0001%.

Picric acid is so unstable, terrorist don't even use it. If they filled a regular bomb with this, it would be 5% as strong as a nuclear bomb.

A professor had a jar of that stuff..all dried out.... with just probably 2cm deep x 4" diameter or like that. THe prof died and we were checking over the lab to make sure nothing dangerous was on the shelves. lol. If someone had knocked that on the floor it could have blown left quite a crater there and scattered whatever other nasty things he had setting there (one of which was a small amount of a nerve gas....) all over for everyone to inhale
