I have been this impressed, inspired, and challenged by Joe Pass, Lenny Breau, Tuck Andress, Martin Taylor, Tommy Emmanuel, and now by Pat Donohue. This is 'take two' on Pat for me - I've had "Two Hand Band" for years, but re-listening to it the last couple weeks has me playing, improvising in parts, and throwing away the d*mnable flatpick. I'm back up to sounding as good as him when he was 6 years old and taking a nap. Awesome!
@spearchamp this is from wikipedia ''While carrying a full academic load at Marquette, Pat maintained a rigorous musical regimen, often practicing up to six hours daily.''
I had the pleasure of learning from Pat at a week long guitar camp. We played until the late hours. He is a virutuoso. It is so different sitting around playing with guys like Pat vs just going to a performance. Really nice guy, Great Guitar player
I am proud to say that Pat is a dear friend of mine - we were college classmates at Marquette, and lived in the same apartment complex off-campus. Pat's practice regimen back then was remarkable - it was not unusal for him to practice up to 6 hours a day! All while carrying a full academic load. If anyone can ever post a video of his performance of "La Vie en Rose," it would be greatly appreciated.
If you've never met him, he is so nice and down to earth. When you talk with him it's like talking to a friend. Sweet man and sweet sweet music.

Great playing, fantastic guitar. I've always wanted a Ryan, but it is kind of sophisticated sounding for da blues.
