  • I was leaving the Lift Ticket in Benson in between sets one night, when Charlie and the band were heading back in after their break. Not knowing what else to say, I blurted, "You're great!" Charlie looked at me and said, "No man -- YOU'RE great," and went inside. I've met a few well-known people since then, but this is the encounter I always mention whenever anyone asks if I've had a "brush with greatness."

Thanks for posting -- Charlie rules!

  • G. Otto Splatti!

  • This is most certainly true!

  • He was actually at the Zoo Bar the other day, while my band was playing an acoustic set down the street. I wanted to go in, but I had to play my set, and I had no money.

Needless to say, I wasn't happy that I missed it.

  • I remember at the Zoo in Lincoln seeing him with the Megatones and watching those Meg-ettes dancing their lovely feet off! What a show--absolute, pure genius. The Worm was another hilarious participation experience. Long Live Charlie!

  • Best rocker to come out of the big O. Thanks for the good times Charlie.

  • Thanks for this! Charlie is the greatest.

  • Saw Chuck my last night in Lincoln (1982) before moving to Arizona. He opened for Jason and the Nashville Scorchers, and (headliner) Joe King Carrasco at the Drumstick. Absolutely bat shit crazy good. One of those indelible memories that remind you good things do happen in spite of "evil-doers."

  • Charlie Burton is vastly under-rated! He is still the same genius today. His latest album is called SALAD, from 2007. His last two records are his best.

  • CUZ YOU ARE LOSER!
