[How to] Change your Jailbroken iDevices' Root Password (iOS 5.0.1)

Showing you how to change your root password on Jailbroken A4 and below iDevices running iOS 5.0.1. I recommend that you do this straight after jailbreaking. Massive thank you to @Pod2g for the exploit and the huge amount of time that he's put into it.

1) Open Cydia
2) Click manage, sources, edit, add
3) After the http:// add repo.hackyouriphone.org
4) Add source, add anyway on security warning
5) Search 'mobile terminal'
6) Select "MobileTerminal from hackyouriphone"
7) Make sure is version 520-2, install, confirm
8) Once cydia has installed, quit cydia
9) Open Terminal from the springboard
10) Do/type the following, hitting return after each line:

I) type: su root
II) enter the password: alpine
III) type: cd
IV) type: passwd
V) enter your new password (note: terminal does not show what your typing in for your password, so make sure you get it right)
VI) retype your new password
VII) type: passwd mobile
VIII) enter your new mobile password
IX) retype your new mobile password

11) Exit Terminal
12) Your done!

Everytime I launch this version of mobileterminal on my iPhone4 5.0.1 it says loading, goes screwy and REBOOTS MY iPHONE?!?!?! What gives?

@SouvlaParty not sure, it works on all ithings that I've tried it on. Uninstall it and try downloading from a different source, like xsellize: cydia.xsellize.com

@blackykey When you say you've lost it, do you mean you've forgotten it? YouTube won't let me post links, but if you search on google for "changed my iPhone root password and I've forgotten it" and click on the hackint0sh link, that should help you out

@KyIeBiz You sure can. If its a password line, you're best off overly pressing it to make sure it's back to the start of the line.
