Tamworth Trip 4/09/09

So its nearing the end of the Summer Holidays. Well if you can call it 'Summer'. So me and Mike (Doctor1248) decided to go for a trip up to Tamworth. The journey up was good taking just under 4 hours and a great connection from a Pendo to a Turbo at Birmingham New Street ment we arrived at Tamworth at around 12:15. Lots of freight turned up for us including Freightliner 66s, EWS 66s, DRS 66s, EWS 92, Freightliner 90 and a Fastline 66. we also saw 60074 but due to my camera turning off at the greatest of times I have no video. Mike does so check out his vid. Also passenger was good with speeding Pendo's and Voyagers both High and Low Level. Also a CrossCountry HST appears in the Vid on High Level.

@040train I went to Tamworth on 1 April 2010 (there are videos of my visit posted on YouTube) and can confirm there are announcements re standing back when a freight train approaches. By the way, this is a fantastic video.

brill vid- i was wondering whether there is an anouncement at tamworth when a passing freight is heading through the platform (not centre lines) warning about standing back etc... as when i went 2 tamworth was new yrs day & there was no freight at all. I noticed there was a warning about straight through voyagers on the upper level but an announcment would be a great way to know which platform/ notice when coming.
