It's the PC version, which uses General MIDI to produce the music, making it sound very strange...

which one? the ps1 versions are midi files but the pc versions are supposed to be better created on a better program or sth. i still like the originals better

Ultima edition is basically the pc version of the game with some tweaks and extra stuff with it.
