Through albino eyes

Over the past two years at least 56 albino people in Burundi and Tanzania have been killed by hunters working for witchdoctors who sell their body parts as talismans for thousands of dollars.

The killings triggered a humanitarian crisis as thousands of albinos were either trapped in their villages, too frightened to move, or in the case of children abandoned in special schools for the disabled and shelters guarded by the police.

The spontaneous local humanitarian response to this emergency was coordinated by the Red Cross societies of both countries. It sharply highlighted the long-standing social and health problems of Great Lakes albinos, above all the skin cancer to which so many of them succumb.

those poor people. that is not fair to them, I used to know a friend who was albino and he was picked on for the color of his skin, these people not only have to endure sunlight that is so intense but also have do deal with torment from others not to mention some of them are having a hard time seeing especially the red eyes. I plan to make a cartoon for those people, its taking me a long time but its worth it. may god smite evil in those who pick or hunt on these poor albinos. god bless.

No, they are NOT white, they're albino. Just how rabbits & birds can be albino.

Nonetheless these poor albino people are tormented & refused education & whatnot. This is worse than the racism in the US after the 14th amendment because THEIR PARENTS oftentimes leave them at birth! Or maybe kill them or sell their body parts for "good luck" much like people carry rabbit feet.

They are white, and we should help them! I think they need to be protected from that violence!

I have a friend that is albino, everybody is scared of him like he has a disease that they can get just by being close to him. Teachers stare and pity, classmates talk about him right in his face, it is just so terrible.

@SonEriccs my classmate one albino girl did teach me about her life and no different because i am deaf and she is albino feel the same way share . I dont think God do that hurt people ..just depend on genetic or rare happen
