  • @dasher70 Bolero, to me, is much more dramatic than this...and because of that more moving. So I think that a more dramatic piece MIGHT have helped their case for Gold because B and B were nothing but DRAMA.

But I only say might because they could have probably done everything under the sun and still only placed 3rd.

Thank Goodness Ice Dance is becoming less Political...and thus less of a joke.

  • I have been waiting over 20 years to find this video. I remember watching this in person. Didn't they also do this same performance another time only dressed as

clowns? We don't see ice dancing like this anymore. I think this is absolutely brilliant skating!!

  • omg i luv them so much, r.i.p. mcall

  • JOYOUS! AND so difficult... this reminds me a bit of Torvill and Dean's Barnum, but of course this is original too. I think they performed this even better in the World's after this Olympics!

  • I had the pleasure of skating with them in the summer of 1987 under the tutelege of Mrs Stong and Mr Briscoe. I watch the beginnings of this program and knew it was going to be something special. To watch the completed program at the 1988 Olympics gave me goose bumps. There are only two Ice Dance programs that do this to me: Wilson and McCall's Ragtime and Torvill and Dean's Bolero. These two programs interpret every second of the music.

  • That footwork sequence at 4:20 is almost impossible. They make it look so easy. Unlike the Russians who skated miles apart, everything they did was difficult because they were so close together.

  • Thank you for uploading again.

  • Of the three medalists, this was the most difficult program and had the most ICE DANCING in it.

  • One of my all time favorite ice dances. I thought it deserved the gold medal back in '88, and to this day, still do.

    Rob you are missed.

  • Still one of the best ice dances ever...Bless the memory of the amazing Rob McCall. We can only imagine what kind of dances he'd be concocting for today's competitors if he were still with us.
