Fan made video. This compilation is a tribute to all Hard Rock and Hard'n'Heavy bands from the 80's. The song I chose as soundtrack was recorded by Fair Game, the band that Ron Keel (Malmsteen's Steller, Iron Horse, solo artist etc) formed soon after his own group, Keel, ended at the late 80's. Ron Keel was the only male member on the band:
Ron Keel - Lead Vocals, Guitars & Keyboards
Eve Marie - Rhytm & lead Guitars, background vocals
Tina Listo - Rhytm & lead Guitars, background vocals
Janna James - Bass guitar, background vocals
Stphaine Leight - Drums and background vocals
Fair Game released one record called "Beauty and The Beast", but only about 10 years after it was recorded! And this is a fantastic cd (produced by Peter Marrino), this all girls band and Ron Keel really knew how to rock!
The drummer of Fair Game is Mötley Crüe 's Tommy Lee sister.
I tried to add every band that I like to this video, but how it was impossible, I've followed some rules:
- only bands that I really love and think that was important to devolp the Hard Rock music;
- only bands that released their first record until 1985; except if those bands were formed by older musicans already famous for previous works;
- I've used a few groups from the 70's, but only because their carrer did a big turn on the 80's;
- There are a few traditional metal bands on the video. These bands or are too important to be only called as "Heavy", or released some record (or song) that is more Hard Rock oriented;
- Only one segment per band (except for Keel and Fair Game, this is a tribute to a Keel song).
Still, some bands are missed here... maybe in another video tribute, you never know....
I would like to take this oportunity to dedicate this video for some artists that are no longer with us, like Steve Clark (Def Leppard), Kevin DuBrow (Quiet Riot), Alex Nelson (Lizzy Borden), Snake and Mick Brown (Tobruk), Paul Hackman (Helix).
Most of the bands here came from North America and England, but you will find artists from Spain, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Scotland, Australia, Canada...
... such as Sangre Azul, Madam X, Yesterday and Today, Stage Dolls, Europe, Bonfire, Heavy Pettin', Fifth Angel... for the whole list of video samples (bands and music), please watch the video to the very end.
On the credits you can hear the song "Somewhere In The Night" by Fair Game (also from Beauty and the Beast record).
I really wish that you enjoy the music and the video. The only reason that I did this video was to celebrate the 80's metal, hard rock music!!!
Ron Keel Rocks!!!
STAY HARD (True As Steel) !!!
