I hate to be the poor soldier or the civilian who forced to be in its field of fire if that machine gun was in the hands of disgruntle or maniacal person.

@Spindel01 They made them FOR nazis haha. Plus I don't think using the mg42, an instrument of war, for war, is abusing it.

My old Gramps reluctantly used to tell us grandkids about fighting the Jerries we always wanted to know about the guns and he used to say the one they were most afraid of were the ones that sounded like big wet farts; zzzzgh zzzgh zzzzgh zzzgh. Turned out was the MG42. If they could nick them off the Hun they were chuffed to bits. Them and Schmeisers....
