This is the cutscene at the start of the level "The Arbiter". It is the seventh cutscene of the game. It is also the longest cutscene in the game (aside from the credits).

  • @rainhamendgill My favorite is when the Arbiter says to Tartarus: "If they came to hear me beg, they will be DISSAPPOINTED..."

Just shows how proud the Elites are and how strongly they believe in honor among their society.

  • "the grunt rebellion"

    I bet they almooooost won

  • "When we joined the Covenant, we took an oath."

"According to our station, all without exception."

"On the blood of our fathers, on the blood of our sons, we swore to uphold the Covenant."

    "Even to our dying breath."

"Those who would break this oath are heretics, worthy of neither pity, nor mercy. Even now, they use our lords creations to broadcast their lies."

"We shall grind them into dust."

"And continue our march to glorious salvation!"

  • @Freelancer591 yeah...to think that he lead the Fleet that glassed Reach and then followed the Pillar of Autumn into Slipsace towards the Halo ring...pretty crazy. Few people realize that the Arbiter (i.e. Thel 'Vadamee) was the FLEET Master responsible for the Fall of Reach and in charge of every single Covie that you gun down in Halo 1.

  • @Foxtrot323 That, and The Arbiter was a Zealot-Class Fleet Master. He was the definition of Badass and he knew it. He would have willingly died for the Covenant at any time if he was commanded to.

  • The Great Journey is a....-(Activation of the Halo Rings)....a sucidle path of destruction....Let The Great Journey(The Covenant's Death)Begin!!!!!so said the Prophet of Truth(liar),Mercy(mean as hell),and Regret(dumb as shit).....however they do make it sound cool on the cutscene "Changing of the Guard"...

  • @Hugsblue Bungie made it like that in Reach because they wanted to re-introduce the Covenant as big, scary, alien enemies that were only bent on our destruciton. Reach took place before Humanity knew alot about the Covenant, hence the fact they didn't speak english.

  • What I'm wondering, is why they actually seem civilized in cut scenes like this, but when it comes to Halo games such as Reach, they're nowhere close to civilized. Anybody able to make any sense out of that?

  • @Altair796 well thats like how noble team died too

  • " On the blood of our fathers, on the blood of our sons " Epic, the Halo series is truly breathtaking.

  • how do the elites eat anything when their mouths have no bottom?

  • I remember 7 years ago when this cutscene played, my jaw dropped cuz i really wasnt expecting to play as an elite. good times.
