We were there in March just two weeks after the earthquake to see our daughter who lives in Christchurch. Toured down south and stayed in Queenstown, Lake Tekapo and across to Greymouth to take the transalpine train back to Christchurch. What a beautiful country.

New Zealand looks like a cross between Scotland, Canada and Australia.
It's mountainous and green like Scotland (and Canada), plenty of water (lakes and rivers) like Canada but doesn't look as green as those areas, at least not in photos. It still looks a bit dry and arid like Australia. (You know the scrubs and yellow grass). Thanks for the photos. Much appreciated.

it reminds me the good old days when im was in lake tekapo south island. it was the greatest experience i've ever had in my entire life, the memories of christ church, timaru, dunedin, geraldin up to queenstown was so amazing. if i could bring back the hands of time i'd rather live in lake tekapo for life and shall not return to my own country.
