Here it is a quick test of my "new" MXR M-103 Blue Box. I've bought it used and immediatly applied the C11 MOD, patching it with a smaller capacitor, having as a result a very open and wider sound, eliminating the 'volume drop' problem, and improving IMHO the overall sensitivity.
It's really a FUNNY pedal, more musical than useful, but really really enjoyable!
Blue Box loves neck pickups, better if single coil, and hates chords! :D

  • Hello! Can you tell me please what is the original value of the C11 capacitor.

The sound that you get is great, want do the mod cose the volume drop dont let me play along with other pedals.Thank you.

    Good luck!

  • @Livitation3 Hi! The C11 capacitor originally should be 4,7nF, mine was a 10nF and it was pretty unusable.

Actually is working with a 2,2nF in the sample you heard and IMHO is far better!
