The rule, I have always heard, is if it will fit in it's mouth, it should eat it lol.. so watch your fingers.. the last turtle in this video we had for less than a month at the time this was shot.. and he ate hotdogs from day one here.. he is just around two inches right now

My son has a RES and its roughly 2 inches long. I have yet to see it actually eat though and im getting worried. Will the baby RES eat hot dog?

yes.. they eat hot dog and sausage dogs.. but their favorite is shrimp.. the hot dog and sausage should be cleaned out after the night or they start to degrade pretty fast.. the shrimp never lasts that long as the fish in the tank eat it too
