  • I guarantee you that all this gaming even for the greatest CS player will only be a slew of memories, they will not go into their late 20s hanging onto it. I'm not here to fight you, I'm just saying time is valuable, and that's why players like Oskar or Heaton or pott1 have quit and gone to do things in the real world (studying, and what not).

  • In the future, when a CS player quits, he has to face the challenges of real life, and guess what? CS experience will only help so much in the long run. Yes, it's fun, and it would be great to be paid while having fun, but it's not the end all be all.

  • Don't need to be so hostile, if you're going to have a discussion, you must see things from all prespectives. Yes, I'm not saying that gaming, as a job, is not rewarding. Hell I've been to Lans, dedicated countless hours upon hours to "be the best" in my own league. But I think when a person turns a certain age, gaming begins to lose its meaning. How many guys are there that can earn at a level of Fatality? Compared to a career, gaming "salaries" are nothing.

  • i mean its not like Fatal1ty, Stermy, Moon, and the countless others that I'd rather spare myself an hour listing are already more wealthy in both world experiences (traveling the world, meeting new people), and wealth (for the 2 years Fatal1ty was employed to CGS alone he was making $250,000 a season from a contract off DirectTV).

for the people that MATTER (the ones that WANT gaming to become their jobs) theyve made more money than most regular jobs and gotten to do FAR more. e-sports > RL

  • Gaming for the few that make it far IS a valid means of income and a very well respected job (varies from country to country but in Korea and Europe, it's like being anything from a rock star to a celebrity). it's only a matter of time before it fully swipes over america like it has in Europe and most of Asia. real jobs. rofl. yes lets all CONFORM to YOUR idea of a REAL job. hey everybody! lets all abbandon our own aspirations and just conform to 'christpunchers' idea of a "real" job.

  • Okay? And do you realise how much money fRoD, Storm, and them made from the CGS, and their countless international LAN attendances, not to mention salaries? Hell, Fatal1ty got paid $250,000 just to gamecast for a single season of CGS. In Europe and Korea E-sports IS a real career option and thats why in Korea you see matches on TV on a regular basis, and teams have 100 story tall office complexes named after themselves for their personal and practice use such as WeMade FOX. continued...

  • Yeah? And these guys are about 25 now... most of them have or will quit fairly soon, as Warden has already done. Think about the education and real world experience that they're missing out by playing CS as a job. What employer will hire someone with CS experience over someone with a degree? Perhaps I'm too much of a pragmatist but there comes a time when a computer game should just a hobby and not a career. There are plenty of REAL jobs that allow you to travel, you just have to earn it.

  • cs IS their job u idiot. they get salaried and get to travel the world on a REGULAR basis . something the average job could never let u do.

  • fat fuck

  • hade dem tagit ut fury därifrån då?
