  • His way of playing the intro is so fluid and natural.. Incredible.

  • I am a metal musician and you can only do so much with it... This has just re inspired my guitar playing and hopefully bring it to a new level :)

  • Simply absurde, no words...

  • I first watched a video of Wes playing with Martial Solal on a TV show, the I switched to some of Solal's own videos then quite randomly got to Stan Getz and Chet Baker playing "Airegin", and then I got here.

  • @Zaekk that´s exactly it.... I didn´t mean thought... I mean his imagination and emotions, where were they taking him in that moment in time? ...I´m pretty sure even HE wouldn´t be able to explain it with words... just music.

  • @freekazoid8489 Like any artist I'd assume he's just channeling his emotions into it. You don't really think you just flow.

  • Really incredible

  • I have owned this album CD. (^^)

  • he used the scale of his imagination and musical genious... pretty much sure he wasn't thinking about any other rather than that at the time.

  • @dudo5000 Sounds like a Polish Sausage flat 5 with diminished 6th over a g minor 8th chord. :D LOL

  • @dudo5000 What those people said is only partly true. Jazz uses a lot of chromaticism also and you cant derive it from any particular scale

  • @dudo5000 He played along the chord structure of Airegin.

  • Flanagan is fantastic on this album, sensitive and strong.

  • favorite jazz guitarist of all time, he could even play only a couple notes in a single song and it would sound cooler than most guys who play a thousand notes

  • &dudo5000 Hey man Jazz is a language; you have to learn how to speak it. Once you've learnt the basic scales, immerse yourself in transcribing solos from the masters. There is no other way to learn Jazz

  • @dudo5000 HAHAH! So many different scales. In jazz each chord has a related chord scale (or multiple options of chord scales). So for every different chord change he is using a different scale/mode. Kind of a basic introduction to a complex system.

  • LMAO

  • does anybody know what scale he used in this?

  • Virtuoso.

  • good wes! bravo wes! i like elvis and jazz
