This is an amazing car, and i had 2 x5's before. Power when needed, steering just right and so easy to drive

I'm in the market for one. How has it been service wise? I've heard mixed, some have had little to no issues others are taking it to the shop all the time.

If u have yhad to gl already..to me it means they r not reliable..so u need to get a new after 50000 miles..hum? I still have my mdx from 2007 with 160000 with only 1 issue..ac compressor went out

The GL series is a Unibody design- the only full-size SUV that utilizes Unibody construction which explains its superior rigidity and stability, (It shares nothing with the Chrysler/Jeep SUVs.

Hmmm- since you said "usually" I'll let your opinion stand. But, the simple fact is that having owned 2 GL's (450 & 550) I can vouch for their value as a people and package transporter par excellent!

We have had 2 GL's (450 & 550). They have both been terrific and super dependable and amazingly comfortable. Also, note that they are unibody design not frame on body which provides a much better sense of stability and rigidity. The GL has received great reviews from the motoring press. I have no hesitation recommending this vehicle to anyone looking for an outstanding and capable but pricey SUV.

Nice minivan. I wonder if it will have the same horrible repair record as the ML or the GLK series. It won't matter. Mercedes could design a dog house, slap a three-pointed star on it, & (undiscerning) folks will plop down $80,000 for it. ...and, apparently, Merc knows this.
