Well when singing live there are three things that can happen: to slow, to fast and spot on.
In my experience it's better to be a little bit to fast the a little bit to slow . To slow is less subtle, and becomes boring quick.
That's the why. I still agree with you, though. This version would be better if it was slower.

why is it that everyone rushes every single acapella cover of a song? please GO slow it down, it would sound so much better. good stuff though.
