how old is desire for love? is it any good?

It was released in 2002. I enjoy it very much; the acting and the costumes are great. There were made a polish and a british version (with british actors lip-syncing the dialogue, not bubbing it).

Great stuff. I've seen "Desire for Love," but how does Impromptu compare to it?

Well, Desire for Love focuses on Chopin's life, while Impromptu focuses on George Sand. I would also believe that Desire for Love is more "historical correct". Impromptu is a lovely film and very amusing, but I think it's quite silly and fluffy overall.
