Walked Around Coney Island

Today was perfect day, I couldnt remember anything
i couldn't remember anyone and I didnt know my name
i woke up riding the subway, got off when it stopped raining
and walked round Coney Island like I was stuck inside a dream
turned myself into the police cause maybe i hurt somebody
they called up for the ambulance, drove me to emergency
they looked around for my id, But I didn't have a thing on me
just a book in Spanish that I couldn't seem to read

they found something inside my pack a phone number folded in half
They tried to call for hours till somebody picked it up
I cried into the telephone, please get me cause I'm all alone
I don't know how I got here and i need to know where's home
she didnt know who I was and she said that she was sorry cause
there was really nothing that she could think of
Then suddenly it dawned on her that we had met just once before
her daughter was a friend of mine, she'd meet me at the door

Her daughter said my name was Doug, We dated twice but then broke up
I live in new york city in an apartment filled with stuff
I tried so hard to think let those things, tell me who I used to be
looking into photographs, meant nothing to me
Then everyone started to call, everyone I'd known before
they tried to tell my story, to fill the blanks and write the score
I didn't quite like what I heard, with every word it just got worse
the person who I used to be, seemed more like a curse

I started thinking something here, made me want to disappear
and maybe i don't want to know, about who's in the mirror
maybe this my big break, to walk away from all my mistakes
without that ugly feeling, of carrying all the weight
What I gained from what I lost, felt like it was worth the cost
and every step feels lighter now, cause now is all that was
