I didn't understand the fifth way? Also, is there a way of shifting from drive mode to natural mode while driving without using the brakes?
-
But the tiptronic functions disables itself if one does not use it for an extended period of time. Does anybody know how to re enable it again?!?
-
@tracto91 Nope, the mechatronic unit of the DSG gearbox knows if it's save to downshift and, in any case, the RPMs are always kept under the redline.
Also, if you upshift, the ECU keeps the RPMs above the minimum, so there's no risk of shutting down due low revs.
-
if i downshift too much is there the posibility of overreving the engine up ?
-
'...otherwise the gearbox will override the driver.' just like an airbus will override the pilot!
-
@Liist I agree. But, even with manual transmission, if you shifted from 5ft to 1st... it'd still be impossible, so it makes sense
-
I do not want the gearbox to override me!
Bad gearbox, bad!
That saves your transmission man. keeps your engine at the optimal gear and saves you fuel
