Wine Primary Fermentaion on Sunday October 31, 2010
Little video showing the sugar in the grape mix being transfomed into alcool and CO2.
Usually, primary fermentation is done in a pail (food grade plastic bucket). In this instance it's done in a glass carboy.
The addition of the yeast to the must converts sugar into ethanol and carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is vented out into the air, while the alcohol is retained in the mix.
