Is it an Australian model?
We had a 2003 GX which didn't have a rear diff lock, we now also have a 2009 GXL with no diff lock.

It differs from the model. I drive a 2005 tlc 120 spec-4. It's centre locking is activeted through the 4x4 lever. And it has a manual-turnknob (on the right-bottom sight off the steering wheel) for the rear Diff-Locker. It is specifically a diff-lock, as it doesn't run on LSD at all. And I guess that it suits it more for offroading in some cases, as im pretty sure that I would drive up that bump @ 1:02 with relative ease (with everything on ofc).

Yes and no. The 120 Prado has a centre locking dif (which engages the 4wd) they has an LSD in the rear. The limited slip Diff is similar to a locked diff but differs because it doesn't fully maintain equal power to both wheels 100% of the time. :)

Yes in most cases when off road you lock the centre diff as the Prado is constant 4wd.
Some of these cars all so have lock diffs.
