  • I liked the second counter better than the first simply because the technique on the scissor sweep was terrible. The scissor guy was not getting Roy's hips over his. I doubt I could fall back before my own center of gravity got displaced by a good sweep. The second counter seems to go in the direction the sweeper is already pulling.

  • My partner's technique was fine. My hips don't have to be fully over his hips, you just need to tip me forward by pulling with the arms. I can't be sitting on my heels for the sweep to work, I have to be off-balanced (kuzushi) slightly to the front.
